I woke up one day quite a few years ago and found myself overweight, out of shape with no energy, and clinging on to some bad habits. I watched 3 of my close family members die far too early of lifestyle preventable diseases and I didn’t want to be one of them.
I wanted my life back, I wanted to play with my kids without huffing and puffing. I wanted more energy, I wanted to look better and I wanted to have a greater relationship with my wife. I wanted to live a long healthy life so I could watch my children and eventually, my grandchildren grow up.
So I set about reducing and/or eliminating my bad habits and began the quest to get healthy. I tried every diet, fad, meal plan and meal replacement. I did every workout regime I could get my hands on. I listened to Dr’s and nutritionists and I read every book on diet and nutrition. Nothing worked for myself or my wife.
Then I had a paradigm shift.
I started listening to podcasts and reading books on genes and genetics and especially epigenetics. Once I got the idea that our genes don’t control us, we control our genes by our lifestyle my whole world changed.
The modern lifestyle makes life so confusing.
Eat what comes naturally from the earth. Move/ exercise like a human “animal” would move in the wild. Bring your lifestyle as close as you can to the rhythms of nature. Turn off your T.V. Meditate. Sleep. Grow.
Unleash Your Gene-ius is about an understanding that our genes don’t control us, we control our genes by our lifestyle choices. This is epigenetics.
I also believe that we all have a unique, or special talent or gift. I call it your genius. Like a superpower that only you know about. Something that is unique to you. My idea is that if you are optimally healthy you are much more capable of creating and sharing your genius with the world.
Therefore, when you “Unleash Your Gene-ius” you break the chains that drag the life out of you from poor lifestyle choices and you become healthier, happier, more vibrant, and more able to share your genius with the world.
